Why should I join DECA Ryerson
DECA is an opportunity to apply your business knowledge in a case environment while advancing your professional network and enriching your business and leadership experience. DECA Ryerson will allow you to build on your business knowledge and professional experience through several internal and external conferences and seminars.
How do I become a member?
You can become a member of DECA by joining the DECA Ryerson chapter. Registration for 2015/2016 will begin in September. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for updates and notices!
What does DECA stand for?
DECA stands for Distributive Education Clubs of America, but it is simply referred to as "DECA".
How will I be prepared for case competitions?
DECA Ryerson has an amazing Delegate Development team whose job it is to prepare and equip you with all the skills and resources you will need to compete. Throughout the year they will be hosting several Delegate Development Sessions where you will learn all the skills in order present a winning case.
How can I compete in DECA?
There are several ways you can compete in DECA: Through individual and team case competitions, Project Management Challenge, Adverstising Campaign Challenge, DECA U Quizbowl, and the Case BOSS Challenge.
Case competitions can be competed as an individual or a team of two. Categories are clustered around six major academic areas: Business Management & Administration, Communications & Technology, Entrepreneurship, Finance & Accounting, Hospitality & Tourism, and Marketing & Sales.
When is Provincials?
Provincials for 2015/2016 will take place on January 15th and 16th, 2016 at the Toronto Sheraton Centre.
Does DECA Ryerson give back to the community?
Yes! DECA Ryerson hosts many events such as our annual Food Drive and Toy Drive to give back to the community. DECA Ryerson also hosts a 30 Hour Famine to raise money and awareness about families facing hunger and famine around the world. We encourage everyone to take part in these events!
